Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect personal data under Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
About This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how TOOLBOSS HARDWARE SDN. BHD. (“Toolboss Hardware”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal data, in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 of Malaysia (“PDPA”). It applies to customers, contractors and trade buyers, people who contact us and visitors who give us personal data through this website.
Data Controller
The data controller is TOOLBOSS HARDWARE SDN. BHD., registered in Malaysia (Registration No. 202601040907 (1703002-W)), of 40-10, The Boulevard, Mid Valley City, Lingkaran Syed Putra, 59200 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Personal Data We Collect
We may collect: your name; email address; phone number; delivery address; order details such as products, quantities, sizes and amounts; the paint colour and finish you ask for; measurements or photos you send so we can check a part fits; delivery records; and anything else you include in an enquiry or order note. For trade orders we may also collect your company name, registration details and site address.
How We Collect Data
We collect personal data directly from you when you check out on this website, prepare an enquiry with our contact form, email, call or message us, or collect an order from us. We do not buy personal data from data brokers or list vendors.
Purpose of Processing
We use personal data to: process your order and confirm payment; check that a part suits your door, fitting or site; prepare paint in the colour you choose; pack and send your order or arrange collection; confirm delivery charges with you; issue receipts and invoices; answer enquiries and provide after-sales support; handle returns, replacements and refunds; prepare trade quotes; and, if you agree, tell you about new products.
Legal Basis Under the PDPA
We process personal data with your consent, given when you provide it to place an order or contact us, and because it is needed to perform a contract with you or to take steps you ask for before entering one. You can withdraw consent for optional communications at any time.
Cart, Checkout & Order Data
Your cart is stored in your own browser’s local storage and is not sent to us until you check out. At checkout, your name, email, phone number, order description (including sizes, paint colour, your delivery address and notes) and total are sent to our payment gateway provider. Card, bank and e-wallet details are entered on the provider’s pages and are never stored by us. The contact form prepares an enquiry on your device, which you then choose to send to us by email.
Data Retention
We keep personal data for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, for after-sales and warranty support, and to meet accounting and tax record-keeping obligations under Malaysian law (generally seven years from the transaction). Enquiries that do not lead to an order are kept for a reasonable period and then deleted.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal data, and only staff and partners who need it to fulfil your order can see it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
Under the PDPA you may ask to access the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw consent for a particular use, including marketing. Contact us at tool_boss@outlook.com. Withdrawing consent may mean we cannot complete a delivery or provide after-sales support.
Children’s Privacy
Our website is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to place the order. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without that involvement.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page.
